At ITW Sport, we design the sports nutrition area for athletes seeking to improve performance, optimize body composition, and prevent injuries through nutrition.
Our approach integrates clinical assessment, continuous monitoring, and coordination with other areas of the center such as individualised physical preparation, the sports physiotherapy , and sports rehabilitation. Additionally, our team of sports nutritionists works together to understand the athlete's context, habits, and goals.
«Our goal is to offer a rigorous, personalized treatment adapted to the timing
and demands of each sport»
Sports nutrition does not need to be thought of in isolation. That’s why we adapt the meal plan to the different stages of the athlete’s competitive cycle: pre-season, high-load weeks, competitions, or rest periods.
Each adjustment has a specific goal: maximizing available energy, promoting muscle recovery, improving sleep quality, or strengthening the immune system. The result is a dynamic nutritional strategy that evolves alongside the athlete.
Each phase of the sports season (preseason, high load, competition, recovery) presents different physical and metabolic demands. In this first stage, we not only diagnose but analyze how the training cycle is impacting the athlete's body and what specific nutritional needs exist.
Nutrition is not static. Therefore, we continuously modify the nutrition plan. It’s not just about implementing an initial plan and making basic adjustments, but adapting the quantities and types of foods according to changes in workload, the athlete's sensations, and metabolic responses.
We differentiate ourselves from other centers by periodically aligning nutrition with the competitive calendar. Throughout the entire training cycle, nutrition must be strategic. Additionally, we conduct continuous monitoring, where we supervise the nutritional status and how the athlete’s body responds to the training.
A sports nutritionist assesses the energy and nutritional needs of an athlete in order to design a plan that enhances performance, recovery, and health. Unlike a general eating plan, the work of a sports nutritionist is directly linked to training loads, competitions, and specific goals such as gaining muscle mass, reducing body fat, or preventing injuries.
At any time of the year. Many people visit to prevent imbalances, prepare for a demanding season, or improve their eating habits from a sports perspective. It is also common to consult a sports nutritionist during periods of performance stagnation or when there are specific goals related to body composition changes.
A sports nutritionist is a professional specialized in nutrition as applied to sports. Their approach focuses on improving athletic performance, optimizing body composition, and assisting in post-training or post-injury recovery. Typically, they have specific training in sports nutrition, tailoring dietary strategies to the needs of athletes and their level of physical activity.
On the other hand, a dietitian-nutritionist is a qualified professional with a university degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, covering a variety of areas, from clinical nutrition to sports nutrition.
