We know that an injury not only interrupts physical performance, but also affects an athlete’s sporting progress and confidence. At ITW Sport, we design sports reconditioning and rehabilitation programs so that each athlete can recover safely, effectively, and completely, with an individualized, evidence-based approach.
Our team of experts successfully combines ITW Sport’s services — such as sports physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation and individualised physical preparation — in the best possible way so that each athlete returns in their best form, or even better.
«Our goal is to offer a rigorous, personalized treatment adapted to the timing
and demands of each sport»
Sports rehabilitation is the phase that immediately follows an injury. This stage focuses on reducing pain, restoring mobility, and recovering muscle and joint function.
Our team applies individualized protocols, always tailored to the specific evolution of each case. We combine manual techniques with supportive technology to optimize recovery times and minimize the risk of relapse.
At this stage, our goal is to identify and address the root cause of the problem, providing the athlete with a solid foundation to continue the reconditioning process.
After rehabilitation, sports reconditioning begins. This is a key moment to prepare the body to return to competition without compromising its safety.
In this phase, we gradually and progressively reintroduce workload, focusing on movement patterns, strength, stability, and sport-specific coordination.
Thanks to precise monitoring and objective data, we clearly define when it is safe to resume training and competition. We believe it’s not just about coming back, but doing so in optimal conditions with a lower likelihood of injury.
Our recovery process begins with a clinical intervention focused on stabilizing the injured area and reducing pain, followed by restoring mobility and initial strength. In this phase, our sports experts apply specific techniques to restore the affected tissue and address functional limitations, establishing a safe foundation on which to build the next step.
Once clinical objectives are achieved, the work moves to the physical and functional realm. This is where we activate reconditioning: a process aimed at reacclimating the athlete to tolerate the demands of their discipline. Through planned and progressive work, we train specific physical abilities (strength, power, coordination, speed), with a focus on sport movements, detected asymmetries, and risk factors.
Before returning to competition, we perform an objective assessment that allows us to validate the athlete's real condition. We use functional tests, technological measurements, and comparisons with the healthy limb to ensure that the risk of injury is minimal. This final study not only guarantees a safe return but also optimizes performance and the athlete's confidence in their body.
Sports rehabilitation is the clinical process aimed at recovering physical functions after a sports injury. It involves physiotherapy techniques and corrective training focused on reducing pain, restoring mobility, and strengthening the affected area. It is the first step before beginning any reconditioning process.
Sports reconditioning aims to get the athlete back to training and competing with safety and efficiency. It’s not just about “getting back to moving,” but doing so in conditions that are similar to or better than those before the injury, minimizing the risk. It involves functional work, injury prevention, and training of specific movements.
Yes. Pain can disappear before the body is truly ready to return to sports activity. Skipping the reconditioning phase increases the risk of new injuries. That’s why at ITW Sport, we always validate each phase with objective criteria and functional tests.
Rehabilitation focuses on the initial clinical recovery after the injury (pain, mobility, basic strength). Reconditioning becomes important when the body is stable, focusing on restoring the athlete's full functional capacity, adapted to the demands of their sport.
